Rainbow Kids Occupational Therapy Pty Ltd solely provides therapy support in the areas of paediatrics ( for children from birth to 15 years old) . Established and servicing the community since June 2021, we provide OT services for children, parents and professionals within South East Melbourne suburbs. At Rainbow kids, we provide services to families with a NDIS self managed plan or using a plan management provider. 

Our aim is to help children to function at home, in play, and in their learning environment confidently and independently. We also support families by working with parents and teachers providing strategies for home and kinder or school to promote the child's development and independence.

Areas In Which an OT May be Able to Assist Your Child

We may be able to assist your child if you have noticed that they struggle with difficulties in the following areas:

• Sensory Processing - display sensitivities (or have "melt-downs") when they are exposed to certain textures, clothes or food. They may have issues with processing sensory input which could be contributing to their ability to self-regulate when modulating sensory input. 

• Academic –  underachieve or have difficulties concentrating at school.

• Self care skills – have organisational or co-ordination problems resulting in them struggling with everyday tasks like toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, sleep ,showering etc.

• Gross motor skills –  struggle with movement, balance and co-ordination when catching a ball or playing on playground equipment, riding a bike

• Fine motor skills - struggle with buttoning, handwriting, functional use of hands in play

• Behavioural concerns - struggle to settle at school, are easily distracted or have problems with anxiety or socialising, mood disturbances, extreme anger, or have tantrums and "meltdowns" frequently. These are common in younger children, but the extent and intensity of these tantrums and emotional outbursts may be indicative of a deeper problem.
